Like a boxer who got knocked out and could not get back into the game I set on the side lines and watched. I tried Ubuntu but there unified desktop did not suit me so I switch to OpenSuse. But just in the last week there was a upgrade to a lib that cause the wifi disconnect and reconnect repentantly. I was unable to find anything on the forms of anybody having any problems like mine. So decided it was time to come back to the simple life of puppy. Installed Lupu-528-005 so far not so bad wifi is solid. I have for years been fighting with anxiety disorder along with depression. I have tried to learn what I needed to get more of the underlying software support for gnome keyring and those files needed to get auto mounting working but I do not have the knowledge nor the patience. While discussing this with my therapist; she felt that I was putting more stress on my self than I was able to handle so I have stopped development of MyWolfe.
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-83215642521192722902011-05-18T16:28:00.000-07:002011-05-18T16:28:40.732-07:00Building in woof beginsI now have the files I need to start to build MyWolfe-030 going thought the woof build system now. Being they are in tar.bz2 format it takes longer than a pet build so it may take some time then have to see if I have it configed right to boot. This build will have the linux-kernel-2.6.38.1 with all the modules I could get prebuild. It will have the xorg-server-1.9.4 I put in all the normal input video drivers that are in most puppys, there are some more I may put in later. It has taken me a while to get this far with learning how the T2-project worked then building the files needed by woof to build the packages and trouble shooting my error I made in typing them in. I have high hopes for this build just hope I don't run into to much trouble getting it all to run smooth.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-39588819619012798662011-05-10T10:01:00.000-07:002011-05-10T10:01:02.284-07:00Working on itI have been working on the next MyWolfe-030. I have most of the files compiled thought T2 completed and am now working on moving the files into the woof build system and getting it all config for the next build cycle. I have been following Barry's comment on using spot or fido and I may see about setting them up in the build not sure yet. With working long hours and being so tired it has been had to concentrate but working at it now.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-3959848511835938262011-04-23T12:13:00.000-07:002011-04-23T12:13:35.644-07:00Where have I beenThis is to let ever body know that I am still around been working a lot and spending most of my free time working on the T2 build system to get the files needed for the next upgrade of MyWolfe. I have a good many of the files created, today got the kernel 2.26.38.1 to compile but am having a time getting the xorg-server to compile. I am working on xorg-server-1.10.1 at this time having to wait for it to compile and see if it complete or not. There is still some issues with the new Xfce files but still have to update some and fix a few links. I have completed about 532 files so far just a 100 or so to go.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-42885450220531999122011-03-31T04:55:00.000-07:002011-03-31T04:55:56.883-07:00I am HappyI am happy to announce that I posted MyWolfe back on 02/09/2011 and to date it has been downloaded 1866 time. Cool and I only hope that all that have downloaded MyWolfe are enjoying it as much as I am.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-30008297903150442642011-03-28T18:52:00.000-07:002011-03-28T18:52:38.464-07:00Puppys RootsHi MyWolfe fans I am working on a new set of files for MyWolfe and have decided to go back to Puppylinuxs roots the T2-Project build system. Barry has used lately the T2-8rc files to build Puppylinux 2.10, 4.0 and Quirky in 2009. Now I am trying to get all the files compiled for x86 processors built at the i686 level. Now this may not work for everybody but a lot of the computers today are i686 or higher. Puppylinux as produced by Barry are done on the i486 level because he is trying to be able to run on as many of the older computers can be done. T2 has the ability to build at many levels and cross builds too. It has a set up for Atom processors but that would limit MyWolfe a lot maybe make a separate build just for net-books next not sure. It has been a learning experience for one thing but I do like to tinker with the different build systems. I have had this little net-book working on the T2 build system for 2 days now and am fixing broken packages and trying to build them.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-33048280860726658012011-03-23T13:18:00.000-07:002011-03-23T13:19:26.685-07:00Firefox-4.0I have been working a lot again lately and not doing much on MyWolfe development but have taken the time with the release of Firefox-4.0 to make a pet for all the puppy fans and have it ready for download.

Orage provides a calendar which integrates nicely into the Xfce Desktop Environment. It is highly configurable and supports alerts based on dates. It warns you with popup or audio alarm. As it is an application for every day use, it launches itself in the background as a daemon and can be accessed using the Orage Clock plugin for the panel.
I have compiled the latest release Orage-4.8 did not include it in MyWolfe-028 becouse it was having some issus and waited tell it was sorted out download here orage-4.8-wolfe.pet. I almost made this a final but wanted to see if anybody had any problems with it. I have fixed it so when you use pmount to mount a drive it will open up Thunar in the drive for you. I found what has been the problem with thumbnails not showing up in Thunar it was a syslink but that is now fixed too. I have put in a syslink for firefox in the /usr/bin so that when you use the web browser launcher it will give you the option to use mozilla firefox without having to find it.

Added files
Google-phone-libs
libyahoo2
xfce4-cpugraph-plugin
xfce4-fsguard-plugin

Upgraded files
Thunar-1.2.1
glib-2.27.92
gtk+-2.23.0
Tumbler-0.1.6-V3
xfce4-panel-4.8.1
xf ce4-settings-4.8.1
xfdesktop-4.8.1
xfwm4-4.8.1

I did forget to mention but starting in MyWolfe-024 I had Gimp-2.6.8, Xine-ui-9.6, xine-libs-1.1.19, xine-pluger-1.02
Know issues are; Thunar volume management is not working it needs gnome virtual file system built and configured. In my test build the tumbler package built and installed fine and thumbnails worked but after building in woof thumbnails no longer work. The gxine I built to go with the xine-lib 1.1.19 but after build it will not run becouse of missing mozilla libs will have to add later. The menu need lots of work.

It has the same kernel 2.6.34.1 Xorg 7.3a Xserver 1.7.5

I upgraded glib to 2.26.1 Gtk+ 2.22.1 pango 1.28.3
Added acl-2.2.47, atk-1.9.0, attr-2.4.43 exo-0.6.0, FireFox-3.6.13, garcon-0.1.5, gdk-pixbuf-2.22.1,
gobject-introspection-0.6.14, gperf-3.0.4, gtk-doc-1.16, gtk-xfce-engine-2.8.0, gxine-0.5.905,
libffi-3.0.9, libnotify-0.4.5, libtool-2.4, libwnck-2.30.6, libxfce4util-4.8.1, libxfce4ui-4.8.0, tumbler-0.1.6, Thunar-1.2.0, thunar-vfs, thunar-volman-0.6.0, udev-151-wolfe, usbutils-0.86, xfce4-appfinder-4.8.0, xfce4-dev-tools-4.8.0, xfce4-panel-4.8.0, xfce4-settings-4.8.0, xfce4-session-4.8.0, xfce4-taskmanager-1.0.0, xfce-utils-4.8.0, xfconf-4.8.0, xfdesktop-4.8.0, xfwm4-4.8.0, xine-lib-1.1.19, Xquisite-1.0.
I am working on getting it going but first have to get a upgraded xorg-xserver compiled but before that have to compile a updated xcb libs. So it will take some time have to work and make money for a living but that is life. Things are going good so far had to upgrade the glib, gtk+ and pango first. Must alwas do it in steps to get it right.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-55636508418002488192011-01-13T21:12:00.000-08:002011-01-13T21:12:50.149-08:00All good plans don't always workI had tried again to get Xfce-4.8-rc2 to build with not as much luck as I wanted. Could not get Thunar to mount drives, no way to reboot or poweroff but to log out and do it at console. Then the worst I have always told people how easy it is to back up puppy linux well not when you have a lot outside your save file like 60 gigs of files and you yourself did not do a backup and lost all your files on your drive so now I am set back a bit but will start over and try and document better and do it with a plan and not jumping in feet first. So back up puppy fans.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-37843248240815572392011-01-04T11:35:00.000-08:002011-01-04T11:35:24.035-08:00MyWolfe-022This is a test of the new glib 2.24.2 gtk+ 2.20.1 and pango 2.18.3. As a added bonus I put in the LibreOffice 3.3rc2 added back Gimp-2.6.8. I upgraded Xine libs to 1.1.19 and a few other small libs were upgraded. I also put back in Pidgin was hoping to put in the latest but it just does not want to compile. If those all work well have some more upgrade planed and am doing some more compiling now but that does not always mean I will get what I want. glibc has been a nightmare to get right.
One of them involved a kernel driver that when I followed the changes in the script I could no longer but up the kernel would hang. So I am taking a lot of the updated libs that I made and putting them into MyWolfe-022. I am planing on moving over to Firefox 3.6.13 does anybody have anything else that they think is of importance.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14896093535290449929noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604548312847906837.post-87189942355660012312010-12-09T16:23:00.000-08:002010-12-09T16:23:05.731-08:003rd operating systemI just read a press release by Google about there new Chrome OS notebook. In there statement they were explaining how it was time for a change and that the Chrome OS was for those that do most of there work on the internet. And then this

Chrome marks a departure from traditional operating systems, such as Mac OSX and Windows, by targeting users who spend most of their time on the web.

"We think cloud computing will define computing as we know it," said Eric Schmidt, Google's chief executive officer.

"Finally there is a viable third choice for an operating system."

So what is Linux, yes I know we are only a small % of all the computers out there using Linux but to not count us as a OS that is just wrong. Then there is BSD, UNIX and a few more but that just burned my butt to think with them making there google-chrome for Linux and having there service work with Linux browsers and all that they would go and forget us.
In that interest you all get to have fun to and it is not just the the young it is for the young at heart too. Here is version 0.9.2.1 of the wormux get it here wormux-0.9.2.1-i486.sfs. I did in sfs form because it is 99.2 megs in size. If you are running MyWolfe-021 you will need to install the following for it to work.
